LEXINGTON PARK, MD, April 17, 2024 – VETS Indexes is proud to announce that Precise Systems has earned the designation of VETS Indexes 5 Star Employer in the 2024 VETS Indexes Employer Awards. “The extraordinary efforts of Precise Systems to hire, retain and support veterans and the military-connected community have earned the organization one of our highest awards,” said George Altman, president of VETS Indexes.

“Competition for the VETS Indexes Employer Awards was tougher than ever in 2024, as a record number of organizations participated. Even with hundreds of employers in the running, the veterans program at Precise Systems stood out from the rest. Congratulations to Precise Systems on this outstanding achievement!” Altman said.

This year, a record 344 organizations submitted completed surveys for the VETS Indexes Employer Awards, an increase of more than 100 from last year and nearly triple the number from two years ago. Of those, VETS Indexes recognized 285 organizations across the following award levels: 5 Star Employer, 4 Star Employer, 3 Star Employer, and Recognized Employer. Not every responding organization made the cut – only those that demonstrated a strong commitment to veterans, members of the National Guard and Reserves, and military spouses. Participating organizations included companies large and small, government agencies and departments, nonprofit groups, colleges, and universities.

As the most objective and comprehensive evaluation of veteran employers, the VETS Indexes Employer Awards program has set a new standard in veteran employment data. VETS Indexes and its Employer Awards have been featured on CNBC, Fox Business and BNN Bloomberg, as well as military-specific outlets, including Military.com, Military Times and Stars & Stripes. This in-depth survey and recognition program analyzes employers’ policies, practices, and outcomes in detail, across the following 5 categories:

  • Veteran job candidate recruiting and hiring
  • Veteran employee development and retention
  • Veteran-inclusive policies and culture
  • Support for members of the National Guard and Reserves
  • Military spouse/family support

About VETS Indexes

VETS Indexes is a leading voice on veteran employment issues, overseeing the VETS Indexes Employer Awards, hosting the Employing U.S. Vets Conference, unearthing unique and unprecedented data on veteran employment through the Veteran Employment Benchmarking Service, and developing custom indexes, linked to financial products, that track the performance of the publicly traded companies that have established themselves as the best employers for veterans.

The VETSX and VTRNIX indexes were created on the premise that the companies that make the best use of the highly talented, yet under-valued, talent pool that veterans represent will ultimately see a benefit to their bottom lines. The performance of the indexes has emphatically confirmed that thesis, outpacing the S&P 500.

As the world’s first resource for U.S.-veteran-themed indexes, our mission is to provide innovative solutions that recognize the value created by the mission-critical mindset, unique skills, and specialized training that veterans bring to the workplace. Our mission also includes a commitment to always donate a significant portion (target of 20% and no less than 5%) of our net profits to charitable organizations that support veterans and their families.

Precise Named #1 Best for Vets Employer in Maryland

ARLINGTON, VA, November 7, 2022 — Military Times announced its 2022 Best for Vets: Employers rankings today.

This year, 230 organizations submitted responses to the Best for Vets: Employers survey that was fielded from May through August, and 175 employers made the list. This editorially independent program produces a highly respected analysis of a company’s efforts to recruit, retain, and support current and former service members, military spouses, and military caregivers.

The 2022 Best For Vets Employers recognizes Precise Systems as a leader in numerous geographic locations and sectors:

  • 1st in Maryland
  • 3rd in SME (Small or Medium Enterprise)
  • 6th in Defense – Aerospace
  • 35th in For-Profit Company
  • 38th Overall

The 2022 rankings can be found here: employers.militarytimes.com/2022

“Military Times continues to set the standard for employer rankings for transitioning service members and veterans. Although often imitated, there is no other list that comes close to Best for Vets: Employers,” says Mort Greenberg, SVP of media solutions at Military Times. “We stand by the rigor and soundness of this survey, which spotlights companies’ employment programs that help transitioning service members excel in their post-military careers.”

Last year, Military Times collaborated with Fors Marsh to update the research methodology and analysis from previous years to provide a streamlined, user-friendly survey experience for participants. The survey was made based on subject matter expert reviews of the survey and rigorous qualitative research, including focus groups and in-depth interviews with Military Times subscribers. FMG designed, deployed, analyzed, and wrote the report for this year’s survey.

The survey captures the areas of greatest importance to transitioning service members, veterans, and their families when looking for an employer. Recruitment and employment practices, as well as retention and support programs, were given the most weight and importance in scoring and final rankings.

“Fors Marsh recognizes the tremendous benefit of hiring military veterans. We’re proud to have had the opportunity to once again partner with Military Times to highlight companies that prioritize the issues important to transitioning service members, veterans, and their families when seeking employment,” said Nicole Togno, Director of Evidence and Insights at Fors Marsh. “Being named a Best for Vets employer can attract some of the very best talent this country has to offer—hands down.”

In its 13th year, Military Times Best for Vets: Employers rankings are based on the results of a voluntary survey that covered the policies and practices that make companies an attractive place to work for current employees and future job seekers within the military community.

#PeopleOfPrecise: Meet Jake Rozelle

Meet Jake Rozelle – Vice President, Marine Corps veteran, and Precise Systems’ spotlight for November 2025.

Jake joined our Precise Team in August 2025 and brought with him integrity, leadership, and a deep sense of purpose shaped by a lifetime of service. Those qualities were forged long before he joined the company—long before he stepped into civilian life at all. They began in a family whose legacy of military service runs generations deep.

Jake grew up surrounded by stories from relatives who served in the Marine Corps, Navy, and Army. That history sparked something early on. But the final nudge came from the Marine Corps’ reputation itself. As Jake puts it, the Marines were known as “the most demanding and challenging branch” of service, and he felt compelled to pursue the highest standard. It was a calling he not only accepted but embraced.

During his years in uniform, Jake learned the value of discipline, attention to detail, and the kind of mental and physical toughness that shapes a person for life. Those instincts, sharpened by his service, continue to guide his impact here at Precise.

Jake played an integral role in our recent celebration of the United States Marine Corps’ 250th birthday, creating a remarkable occasion of camaraderie, tradition, and honor. When asked what it means to be part of such a historic legacy, he says, “It means having a connection to the Marines who fought at places like Belleau Wood, Iwo Jima, and the Chosin Reservoir. Many have made the statement, “we stand on the backs of giants” and this is true. It isn’t just history; it is a living commitment.”

Jake first met our Precise Team in 2022 at an event that left an immediate impression. Even without knowing the leadership team or their backgrounds, he recognized something familiar—an organizational structure and “esprit de corps” that immediately felt like home. When he later learned just how many veterans are part of our leadership team, the decision was easy.

Far too often, Jake says, former service members struggle with civilian careers that feel misaligned with their values. He didn’t want to be one of them. And at Precise, he found what he was looking for: a mission-driven environment, a shared sense of purpose, and leaders who understood the weight of service because they had lived it, too. He believes alignment between the values of military service and the expectations of civilian roles is crucial for success—and it’s why he continues to advocate for environments like the one he found at Precise.

Throughout his time in uniform, Jake has had the opportunity to be part of many memorable Marine Corps birthday celebrations – one of the most notable reading almost like a movie script!

One year, he had invited a Battalion Gunner to be the guest of honor for this particular celebration, but on the day of the celebration, the guest’s duties bound him to Big Island of Hawaii, when the birthday was planned to occur on the island of Oahu. Jake quickly mobilized a section of CH-53s to transport the guest from the Big Island to Oahu, where he was greeted with a team of Marines who prepared his uniform for the celebration. It was already cocktail hour at the celebration, but due to Jake’s quick thinking and the mutual understanding of urgency, everything went off without a hitch. Jake says, “[The guest’s] speech was one of the best I had ever heard at a birthday ball celebration, powerfully uniting the air wing and ground combat elements.”

Today, Jake brings that same spirit of service and leadership to Precise. We’re proud to have him as part of our Precise Team and carry forward both the Marine Corps legacy and the mission of Precise with dedication and heart.

Leading the Way: How Precise Systems Sets the Standard for Cybersecurity Excellence

When Precise Systems announced its achievement of CMMC 2.0 Level 2 certification, it marked more than a compliance milestone—it underscored a long-standing commitment to security, accountability, and mission-ready performance across the defense ecosystem.

A Culture of Cyber Readiness

At Precise, cybersecurity isn’t treated as a checklist—it’s embedded into every stage of operations, from proposal development to systems engineering and lifecycle support. The company’s integrated approach aligns with NIST SP 800-171 controls and ensures that both internal systems and partner interactions meet the highest standards for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

This certification validates that every process—user access, network monitoring, risk management, incident response—is executed with discipline and documentation. The outcome is a workforce that understands cyber accountability not just as policy, but as a shared responsibility.

Why It Matters to the Defense Industrial Base

With CMMC requirements rapidly expanding across Department of Defense contracts, companies that haven’t yet met Level 2 standards are facing new barriers to entry. Precise’s early certification puts it ahead of that curve—offering customers and partners immediate assurance that they’re working with a trusted, validated supplier.

For government program offices, this means reduced risk and faster contracting confidence. For teaming partners, it means seamless compliance alignment and fewer administrative hurdles when pursuing joint opportunities.

More Than Compliance—A Competitive Edge

Precise’s cybersecurity framework is built on continuous improvement. Beyond the technical controls, the company invests in employee training, secure collaboration environments, and proactive system assessments. These practices ensure resilience against emerging threats and position Precise to scale securely as mission demands evolve.

The certification also enhances Precise’s core capability areas—Advanced Engineering, Digital Transformation, Interactive Training & Simulation, Platform Lifecycle Support, Foreign Military Sales, and Physical Sciences & Electromagnetic Warfare—each of which relies on the integrity of digital systems and protected data.

Looking Ahead

As CMMC 2.0 becomes the new baseline across the defense industrial base, Precise’s proactive certification reflects a forward-looking strategy. It demonstrates readiness not only for today’s standards, but for the evolving security landscape that will define tomorrow’s missions.

In short: Precise isn’t waiting for mandates to drive change—it’s setting the benchmark for cybersecurity excellence.

October is nationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, where we take time to honor our fighters, survivors, caretakers, angels, and warriors. We also get the chance to share the inspiring stories of individuals who have battled the hurdles and challenges of breast cancer, including our very own – Ana Richey.

Ana joined our Human Resources team in November 2023 during our acquisition of Excet, Inc. Since then, she has made a bright and lasting impact on our employees, her teammates, and our entire Precise Team. Her favorite aspect of working in Human Resources is the chance to build genuine connections with our employees. She believes that strong employee relationships are the foundation of a positive and productive workplace, saying, “Developing these relationships allows me to better understand their individual work situations and provide more meaningful, personalized support.”

As someone who describes herself as resilient, dependable, and loyal, Ana knows that working in Human Resources is the perfect career for her. These traits also got her through a tough and challenging period of her life – battling breast cancer.

Throughout her breast cancer journey, Ana’s family, friends, and faith remained constant sources of strength and inspiration for her, teaching her the power of resilience, gratitude, and hope. Their support gave her a truly tangible strength that lifted her up and kept her going, even through the most difficult moments.

When asked what advice she would give to anyone currently going through cancer treatment, Ana says, “Take it one day at a time. Some days will be hard, and that’s okay. Allow yourself to feel everything. Don’t try to be strong every single moment; just be real. Lean on the people who love you and let their strength carry you when your energy runs low.” She emphasizes how important it is to keep sight of who you are and to know that you are still the same person, just stronger, braver, and more aware of what truly matters. Knowing that better days will come is paramount to overcoming this battle.

Ana has always been inspired by those who face challenges head-on and do not back down when things get tough. One of these figures is Queen Elizabeth II, who she would love the chance to sit down and have dinner with! She explains, “I’d love to ask her how she balanced motherhood with her royal duties. I think hearing her perspective would be incredibly inspiring, because it would show how she managed immense responsibility while remaining committed to her family and her role. I believe her insight would say a lot about resilience, grace under pressure, and the quiet strength it takes to lead a life of service while staying true to oneself.”

To Ana and all of those whose lives have been affected by breast cancer – thank you for your strength, your resilience, and your courage. We are inspired by you, this month and beyond, and we are grateful for the chance to share your stories.

#PeopleOfPrecise: Meet Emily Weber

Meet Emily Weber – Human Resources Specialist, Coast Guard veteran, and Precise Systems’ employee spotlight for October 2025.

Emily joined our Precise Team just last month as part of our acquisition of Mission Focused Systems (MFS), a recognized partner offering systems engineering, project management, research, and cybersecurity services to the Department of Defense (DoD). She knew that Precise and MFS would make a great match after seeing how both companies have a “People First” mindset that runs through the core of each culture. Confident that Precise would take care of her and her fellow MFS teammates, Emily looked forward to this next chapter.

Before her Human Resources career began, Emily served in the United States Coast Guard. While completing her time in the military, she learned many valuable lessons that still impact her work today. One especially important lesson, Emily says, is, “As long as I put in the work, I can accomplish anything I set my mind to!”

This led her to the field of Human Resources, as she cherishes each and every opportunity to help make people’s lives better and assist where she can. Her service in the U.S. Coast Guard and role in Human Resources both provided her with that daily opportunity – one that she is incredibly grateful for.

Now that she is part of our Precise Team, Emily gets the chance to engage with our employees and share our culture with them in her own, unique way. She describes the Precise culture as impactful, caring, and fun, aligning well with the culture she knows at MFS, as well as her own personal philosophy of remaining professionally driven and always people first.

Emily enjoys relaxing after work by catching up on the latest shows. While she is a sucker for reality TV, she also likes dramas or comedies. Her current obsession is The Task, a crime drama set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia. She recommends it to anyone looking for a well-written drama!

We are excited to welcome Emily and her MFS co-workers to the Precise Team. We look forward to continuing to scale our expertise with the talent and solutions they will provide to our customers!

Precise Systems Earns DoD CMMC 2.0 Level 2 Certification

Lexington Park, MD — August 25, 2025  — Precise Systems announced today that it has successfully achieved the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 Level 2. With this accomplishment, Precise joins an exclusive group representing fewer than one percent of companies across the defense industrial base that have reached this important benchmark.

This certification marks a significant milestone in Precise Systems’ ongoing commitment to safeguarding sensitive defense information and supporting the national security mission. CMMC Level 2 requires organizations to implement rigorous cybersecurity practices aligned with the NIST SP 800-171 framework, ensuring the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) within the defense supply chain.

“Achieving CMMC 2.0 certification is a significant step forward in ensuring our customers’ missions are supported with the highest levels of security and trust,” said Darren Sanders, Director of Information Technology. “It reflects the strength of our cybersecurity program and ensures we can deliver digital and engineering solutions with confidence.”

With CMMC 2.0 certification, Precise Systems can manage and process sensitive DoD data without lengthy approval processes, while also providing partners and customers a trusted environment to collaborate and deploy secure applications. The certification positions Precise Systems to continue delivering mission-critical support across the Navy, Marine Corps, and other DoD organizations. It also reaffirms the company’s role as a trusted partner capable of meeting the evolving cybersecurity requirements that are vital to national defense.

Scott Pfister, President and CEO of Precise Systems, stated: “Our certification is more than a compliance milestone—it’s a demonstration of our commitment to protecting information and enabling mission success. It’s proof that security is at the core of everything we do, from digital transformation to engineering support.”
